Author Die Booth says, “I’m really excited to have this book finally out there – all my stories are important to me, but this collection in particular means a lot. It was written through the entire course of a tough year – it would be a tricky proposition at the best of times to write one story a day, but it seemed even harder in 2013. Inspirational people got me through (not just in regards to the writing) and I want to thank everyone who helped, and everyone who made suggestions for stories when I was flagging. I feel like I changed a lot that year (hopefully for the better!) and so it’s quite daunting to have actually published this book – even though the stories are (well, 95%…) fictional, it still feels so personal that it’s almost like publishing my diary. It’s a charting of downs and up-and-ups, and everyone who has touched my life is in there.
If you buy it, or donate to the MNDA, I sincerely thank you. If you read it and enjoy it, you can tell me what you think here on Goodreads – and please recommend it to anyone who you think might enjoy it. If you read it and hate it then you can whisper constructive criticism for the next one to me at die.booth[at]gmail[dot]com ! Finally, please spread the word on social media or anywhere else, because indie authors need all the good publicity they can get.”
If you buy a copy of 365 Lies, then thank you on behalf of both the author and The Mad Doctors of Literature and know you’re supporting not only a great charity, but also indie publishing. We salute you!
Every day during 2013, Die Booth wrote a flash fiction (and then one extra in case of leap year!) The results of this writerly experiment are due for release on 20 November 2014 as a collection providing a story a day for a whole year. Ranging from pulp to literary, traditional, experimental, and all genres from horror to romance and everything in between, there’s sure to be at least one story in this collection to capture the imagination of every reader.
100% of all profits from sales of this collection will be donated to charity, with the charity of choice being the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
So save the date in your diary, a space on your Christmas list, and stay tuned for more updates.
It’s here! Spirit Houses by Die Booth has been released into the wild, today on Friday 13th 2013, and is now available to buy online:
The first limited-edition run of 50 signed and stamped copies sold out ahead of time and I would like to thank everyone who pre-ordered and has supported this book. You can now buy regular copies in paperback and e-book formats online and don’t forget – if you missed out on the pre-order you can still buy Spirit Houses merchandise while stocks last.
If you read and enjoy Spirit Houses (or any book!), please do consider leaving a review for it somewhere online (its Goodreads page for example) because word-of-mouth is the single most valuable thing to an indie author (and you’ll also get instant good karma – fact!) If you buy a paperback copy, please do lend it to any friends you think might like it and most of all – I hope that you enjoy reading it.
The Mad Doctors of Literature are very pleased to announce that the second (of many forthcoming!) Mad Docs titles is due for release at 13:13 hours on Friday 13th September 2013 – so note that down in your diary!
Mad Doctor Die Booth’s debut full length novel, Spirit Houses, is a genre-defying steampunk-tinged tale of action, adventure and nice cups of tea, with a few chills thrown in for good measure.
You can view book trailers for Spirit Houses now on Youtube – if you dare!
Stay tuned for Spirit Houses updates, or follow Die on Twitter at @diebooth or visit the official Die Booth website.

Die has received the very first copies of the print edition of Re-Vamp and reports that they look absolutely amazing! We’ve also had fun stickers made up! Perhaps we’ll have to have a giveaway sooner or later…
Die and I are deeply immersed in the new and exciting world of book formatting. While I’ve been manipulating and mangling the print layout for our best of Re-Vamp anthology, Die’s been elbows-deep in the eBook edition! But hard work appears to be paying off–we’re both pleased with the results so far, as have our contributing authors, and we can’t wait for you to get a look!
In the meantime, over at the project journal, we’ll be posting the bonus stories for our final monster–the Reader’s Choice theme of fairies!
Thinking of Tinkerbell and wishing on a star? Don’t. Walk into the wrong fairy circle or make a bad bargain with a hunched old lady and you might soon find out the horror of the unseelie court!
